Gasworks and Gasholders

One of Historic England's Introductions to Heritage Assets (IHAs) which are illustrated summaries of what is known about archaeological sites, buildings, etc 'where the literature is dauntingly voluminous, or alternatively where little has been written'.

It contains details on the historical background of gasholders and their development as well as the manufacturing process and buildings.

Credit is given to GLIAS's Malcolm Tucker for his London Gasholders Survey (2000, updated 2014).
